PA Accelerated Administrators and Coaches
Club Director and Coach- Carly Zinn
Carly is the head field hockey coach and assistant athletic director at Dickinson College. Zinn returned to Dickinson having served as the program's top assistant for three seasons (2010-2013). In her first season returning to Dickinson, Zinn led the Red Devils to a 12-7 record and an appearance in the semifinals of the Centennial Conference playoffs. Junior Kim Monteferante '18 was named the program's second All-American. The Red Devils broke school records for goals, assists and points in a season. In June of 2013, she was hired as the head field hockey coach at York College, where she spent three seasons building the Spartan program into a championship contender.While at York, Zinn turned the program around in her second year as the Spartans went from 4-12 to 13-7 and advanced to the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) semifinals. Carly coached York College's first ever All-American, and also had players named the CAC Rookie of the Year during two of her seasons. In addition to Zinn's on-the-field success, the team's overall GPA rose from a 3.0 prior to her arrival in 2013 to 3.42 in 2014-15, earning the highest team GPA for York athletics that year.
Zinn was a three-year member of the Lock Haven University field hockey team, missing her sophomore year due to a medical redshirt. She helped lead the Eagles to a stellar mark of 54-14 (79.4%) during her career. She earned a B.S. in psychology from Lock Haven in 2010 and received a master's of exercise science and health promotion from California University of Pennsylvania in 2014. Carly was born and raised in the Carlisle area and is proud to be raising her family here as well. Carly and her husband Trace have four children, Leo, Maggie, Morgan and Reagan (identical twins), and you will soon be seeing them around the pitch as well!
U12 and U14 Coach-Lindsay Bower
Lindsay is entering her third season with PAAC. She recently accepted a position as the head field hockey coach at Carlisle High School. She was an assistant coach at Dickinson College for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Lindsay moved to the sidelines following an outstanding career as a student-athlete for the Messiah Falcons. A three-year starting midfielder for the 2016 NCAA Division III National Champions, Bower served as a team captain during her junior and senior years. She was a 2016 All-American, two-time South Atlantic All-Region and three-time All-Mid-Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth selection.
Bower was selected to play in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Senior Game and was as the Division III Collegiate Women's Sport Awards (CWSA) Honda Cup Athlete of the Year Nominee for Field Hockey.
A four-year member of the NFHCA National Academic Squad, Bower was recognized as a Scholar of Distinction as a junior. She was a two-time Academic All-MAC honoree and the 2016 MAC Commonwealth Senior Scholar-Athlete.
Graduating from Messiah College in May 2017, she earned a B.A. in Human Development and Family Science with minors in Pre-Counseling & Therapy and Children & Youth Services. Lindsay recently completed her Master of Arts in Counseling at Messiah.
U12 and U14 Coach- Casey Dombroski
Casey joins the PA Accelerated coaching staff after a great collegiate career at Lebanon Valley College. Throughout her field hockey career she recorded impressive defensive stats and was labeled as one of the team's top defenders since her sophomore season. Casey was named to the MAC Commonwealth All-Conference Second Team as a senior, and was also a member of the National Academic squad and the MAC Academic Honor Roll. Graduating from LVC in May 2018, she was an early childhood/special education major and is currently working in a local elementary school as a third grade teacher.
u16/u19 Coach- Aimee MacFarland
Aimee joins the Dickinson College staff this fall as an assistant coach with the Red Devil field hockey program. MacFarland is a recent graduate of Delaware Valley University where she was a four-year starter for the Aggies. MacFarland was a standout defender and midfielder, starting all but one game in her career and serving as a team captain as a senior. She started all 16 games last fall, recording four defensive saves on the year. In addition to field hockey, MacFarland was a member of the Aggie women’s lacrosse team, earning a starting role this past spring. She was a Peer Mentor while at Delaware Valley, a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, serving as the vice president during her senior year. MacFarland has gained some valuable coaching experience as well, working with the FSC Field Hockey Club and leading the U-16 team into the National Indoor Tournament in the spring of 2018. She is a 2015 graduate of Souderton Area High School, earning a starting role as a junior and senior and serving as a team captain in her final season. In addition, she has been part of the coaching staff at the Souderton Field Hockey Camp since 2014. A 2019 graduate of Delaware Valley, MacFarland earned a degree in Business Administration with a concentration on Sports Management.
Administrative Assistant- Amy Davidson
Amy Davidson joins PA Accelerated this year as a debut in club administration. Amy attended York College where she played basketball for four years. In her senior season she helped the team advance to the Sweet 16. After college Amy earned her Master's Degree in Secondary School Counseling from Shippensburg University, while being a graduate assistant in the undeclared students office. Amy has been the Secondary School Counselor at Greenwood School District since the 2012-13 school year, where she also coached the girls basketball team for two season. Amy is from the Carlisle Area and is looking forward to helping student-athletes discover their next step in their futures. Amy and her husband Cory have one son, Eli, and a baby girl on the way.
